In his work entitled Last Summer, Philippe Safire explores the theme of memory and dreams. This multimedia installation is suspended in the middle of the exhibition space. On an irregular sculpture is projected footage of the ocean–visible on both sides–whose surface glistens indefinitely due to variations in lighting. The horizon aligns with the eyes of the viewer. The work, like dreams or memories, exists in the space between reality and virtuality. In a flash of blue light lies an image of the impenetrable natural world.
